JAMIE Death, a Y9 pupil at Bolton School Boys' Division, has won a Bronze medal at the British Judo Championships in Sheffield - his biggest achievement to date.

Jamie fights at U14 and U50 Kg and did it the hard way after losing his first fight and then going on to win the next contests to achieve the medal, winning the final fight in Golden Score. This success follows on from a silver medal at the Welsh Open in November.

Jamie is a member of the Regional England Development Judo Squad and he is also a member of the North West Judo squad whom he represented at the National teams Championships in June where the North West achieved a bronze medal. In October he won a Gold medal at the Lancashire leg of the North West Championships.

Proud father Stewart said: "We are absolutely delighted with all his achievements which reflect all his hard work in training. Win or lose he always has a smile on his face!"
