Jersey’s coastline is transformed twice a day revealing ancient causeways, tidal islands and sea beds that feel like moonwalks. From medieval castles to Second World War bunkers, breathtaking clifftop trails to secret coves – every stretch has a story to tell. From iconic landmarks like Mont Orgueil Castle and La Corbière Lighthouse to hid- den gems such as Bouley Bay and the Plémont puffins, the Jersey Tidal Trail offers a journey rich in discovery. Mont Orgueil Castle, or Gorey Castle, has cast its imposing shadow over the beautiful fishing port of Gorey for more than 800 years. One of the finest exam- ples of a medieval fortress in existence, it is also a symbol of Jersey’s national identity and independent character. Plémont Bay has to be one of Jersey’s most beautiful beaches. Plémont has a nat- ural drama and enchanting beauty all of its own. A sandy cove on the north- west tip of the island with many rock pools, explore its fascinating sea caves, and even a fresh water waterfall. Some sections of the route are ideal for cycling, par- ticularly St Aubin’s Bay and parts of St Ouen’s Bay. For other areas where cycling is not possible along the trail, there’s generally a nearby road that hugs the coastline, making it easy to explore by bike.
