ROCHDALE Hornets finished their 2021 Betfred League One campaign by putting half a century of points on the board in their victory over Coventry Bears.

Hornets ran out 50-22 winners in the game at the Crown Oil Arena. The game saw the return of Paul Brearley to the side after the completion of his ban, named in the halves alongside former England player Rangi Chase.

It took just six minutes for Ben Calland to cross the line for the first of the Hornets' tries. Fuifui Moimoi finished the scoring in the first half to give the home side a 26-6 lead at the break.

In the second half Hornets hit the 50 points mark with the final score coming from centre Tom Ashton.

Off the pitch, the club celebrated its 150th anniversary with a special event at Northern Grange Hotel in Rochdale.

Guests included mayor Aasim Rashid, town MP Sir Tony Lloyd and directors from the club and Rochdale AFC.
