A YOUTH club, formed 125 years ago, has been awarded a Healthy Heart grant by national charity Heart Research UK to help youngsters learn how to look after their hearts. Bolton Lads and Girls Club has been given nearly £9,000 by the charity for its Healthy Young Hearts project which aims at teaching children aged 8-12 the skills to live healthier lifestyles. Figures show that in Bolton over 10,000 adults suffer from coronary heart disease, 58% don’t take enough exercise and 54% of people are overweight or obese – including 21% of children aged 10-11.
