To celebrate National Dog Day in August, Safestyle UK (a registered Fetching Fundraiser for Dogs Trust) launched a nationwide DoginWindow photo competition asking dog owners to share their best snaps to find the UK's cutest pooch.

After receiving hundreds of brilliant submissions from proud pooch parents all over the UK, the lucky dog who has been crowned is red golden retriever, Kynda from Bolton!

Kynda from Horwich, Bolton has been crowned the UK's cutest pooch, with owner Gina taking home the prize of a £500 Love2Shop voucher. Kynda also bagged herself a few extra treats herself - in the form of some personalised goodies!

Explaining what Kynda was up to in her winning photo submission, owner Gina comments: "In the photo, Kynda is watching me trimming a conifer in the front garden, but she'll often go to the window just to watch people walk by. She'll sit in the window and wait for me to return if I pop out somewhere. It's so lovely being greeted by her when we come home as she's always so happy to see us!
Kynda is an adorable eleven-month-old registered red golden retriever who lives with Gina, her husband and their two children. The family has had Kynda since December 2019 and they've been inseparable ever since, with Kynda bringing an endless amount of love and joy into their home.

Owner Gina, adds: "Kynda loves lots of attention and is super friendly to everyone she meets. She likes long walks in our nearby countryside and especially likes to be off her lead, running and exploring new places. One of her hobbies includes digging really big holes in the garden and getting everybody to chase after her!

Commenting on Safestyle's recent study*, which revealed that 86% of people feel like lockdown has allowed them to build a stronger bond/connection with their dogs, Owner Gina agreed with these findings, saying:
"Kynda has helped all of us to get through lockdown as we've taken it in turns to take her out for long walks or we've gone out together as a family on a few occasions. At home, she's brought us lots of love and laughter and gives the very best hugs! She uses her big front paws and wraps them around you. She's a very much loved member of our family and we're all very proud of her for winning Safestyle's competition."

Adam Pawson, Head of Digital at Safestyle commented: "We're thrilled to have Kynda as the winner of our #DoginWindow competition. We received some amazing entries, and whilst choosing a winner was a very difficult decision, Kynda really stood out to us as the winning pooch!

We launched this competition to help support National Dog Day and spread awareness of dogs in need, therefore as part of this, we here at Safestyle are also donating £2,500 to Dogs Trust in order to show our appreciation for the important work they do for the welfare of dogs."
