An estimated 6,000 supporters filled Vic- toria Square in the town centre for a civic reception to recognise the success of manager Steven Schumacher and his team following their famous Wembley win in the League One play-off final. Promotion means Wanderers are back in the second tier of English football for the first time since 2019 and also seven years on from when the club was saved from poten- tial oblivion by the cur- rent owners. Club chairman Sha- ron Brittan was lauded by the fans, who were thanked for their sup- port – along with busi- ness partners, sponsors, community leaders and Bolton Council – by board member Nick Luckock.
