To celebrate Pride Month, online electricals retailer AO has raised over £1,000 to donate to The Proud Trust, a local LGBT+ organisation who support young people across the six boroughs of Greater Manchester.

The Trading & Supply Chain teams hosted a raffle at AO's Horwich headquarters, where generous donations from employees amounted to a huge £1297.45. Many of the retailer's suppliers also got involved, with Panasonic adding their own donation and manufacturers such as Smeg, Hoover Candy and Hisense donating prizes for the raffle.

Following the fund-raising efforts, The Proud Trust visited the retailer's Parklands office on Tuesday to show their gratitude and explain how the money will support their vital work with young people in the area. The donation will go towards delivering youth groups across the Northwest, providing peer support and mentoring opportunities, and organising events.

Ashley Anthony, Supply Chain Manager at AO, said: "I'd like to thank everyone at AO for their generosity and we're so proud that The Proud Trust will benefit from our donation. Following Pride month, it was fantastic to hear all about how the charity deliver their amazing support network for local LGBT+ youth and I hope this will be the start of a great partnership."

Rachael Baker, Fundraising Manager at The Proud Trust, said: "We're really grateful to AO and partners for their kind donation to The Proud Trust. We're looking forward to building on this partnership to provide even more opportunities for LGBT+ young people across Greater Manchester and beyond."

The Proud Trust is known as the home of LGBT+ youth in Manchester, focusing on creating a supportive network and providing opportunities for these young people. The organisation has recently unveiled The Proud Place, a state-of-the-art community hub for the LGBT+ population.
