Inspire Awards celebrates record number of entries

A RECORD-BREAKING number of entries has been received for the 2020 Inspire Awards.

A total of 1,488 nominations have been for the sixth year of the glittering event, which aims to highlight on the achievements of women from all walks of life in the diverse and thriving community of Bolton and wider North West region.

This year, the awards ceremony will take place at the Premier Suite of the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday June 27 and will be hosted by BBC North West Tonight presenter Annabel Tiffin.

Founder of the Awards and CEO of Women in Neighbourhoods, Gulnaz Brennan, said: “The response has been phenomenal and shows how significant these awards have become.

She added: “The Inspire Awards are a showcase for women who have demonstrated extraordinary examples of courage, triumph, kindness, compassion, transformation, skill and success.

“These awards are different because they have a positive genuine social impact. Each year, all our winners commit to working with charities to and, as well as winning the award, they give something back to the community.”

Headline sponsor this year is Stanmore Insurance Ltd, whose Director Jackie Hyde won the Businesswoman of the Year category at the 2018 awards.

Jackie said: “It was a great surprise and honour when I was awarded Business Woman of the Year Award. The Awards are a great platform to align your business and promote your brand or cause.”

There are 20 awards categories, including Lifetime Achievement Award, Women in Technology Award, Women in Business Award, Young Achiever of the Year (Under 18), Volunteer of the Year, Women in STEM and Women in Law.

The Royal Air Force, Bolton at Home Scan and Back Up NorthWest have already committed to be sponsors this year.
