Brownlow Fold School becomes heart safe

Hand on Heart Charity have been working with Bolton company The ExcluSec Group to help create a heart safe school by funding a defibrillator and training package ensuring that the school are rescue ready should anyone suffer from a cardiac arrest whilst on school grounds.

 

Emma Short Training Development Coordinator from Hand on Heart present at the presentation commented “I am delighted that we can support this school and offer lifesaving skills to pupils making them our futures life savers, with statistics showing us that 12 young people will lose their lives every week from having a cardiac arrest, making schools heart safe environment is so important. We are delighted that the team at ExcluSec want to support Brownlow Fold Primary school and that ExcluSec have really embraced our 3 key charitable objectives - to raise awareness of Cardiac Arrest in the Young, placing defibrillators into schools and to provide basic life support skills to young people”.

 

Deputy Headteacher Mr G Johns at the school commented “We at Brownlow Fold Primary School are thrilled to have received a defibrillator and training from ExcluSec. We wish to thank them for their generosity and the pupils, especially Year 4, have promised to represent the school well by becoming first aid awareness representatives.”

 

Michelle Bancroft, Group Quality & Compliance Director commented “It was an absolute pleasure to meet all the children and staff at Brownlow Fold Primary School and present them with this life saving piece of equipment. It was also great to see the First Aid Training being delivered to staff and Year 4 pupils. A truly priceless moment for us, knowing that this can help save a life.
