Local people have been urged to come along to Crompton Place Shopping Centre and strut their stuff in a dance-a-thon to help raise vital funds for charity.

The centre is one of 200 across the UK taking part in the ‘One Great Day’ campaign during June to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, and other local children’s health charities.

Crompton Place will also be donating funds to local charity Kidz2gether who support children with autism.

The dance-a-thon will take place on Saturday, June 15 from 9am to 5.30pm, next to Subway.

And everyone is invited to come to the event and join the team in dancing to help to raise as much money as possible.

A DJ from Bolton FM will be on hand, and The Theatre Dance School and local singer Casper Mason will also be performing.

Free face painting, selfie booth and lots of giveaways will also be on offer.

Paula Wood, Crompton Place Centre Manager, commented: “One Great Day is a fantastic event and worthy cause that brings our community together while helping children that really need support.

“Families, friends, businesses, colleagues, schools, clubs are all welcome – the more the merrier.

“Hosting an event like this is a really fun way to give something back to assist the wonderful work of Kidz2gether and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.”

Michal Noe, Trustee of One Great Day, added: “We are thrilled to have Crompton Place Shopping Centre as one of 200 shopping centres taking part this year, helping so many ill children across the country.

“We are so grateful to CBRE, Lockton, Montague Evans and Savills, our official corporate partners, whose sponsorship means that every penny put in our collection buckets goes directly to these worthy charities.”
