· The festival takes place 24-27 May 2019
· The company and the club are both based in Bolton
· The club has just undergone a £250,000 redevelopment and the festival will be one of its first events following relaunch
The story of Edgeworth Cricket Club is a heart-warming one. In need of new facilities, the small community club, based in Turton near Bolton, found support from local businesses and crowdfunding to complete a £250,000 extension and refurbishment. Now another local business, JCW Group, is helping to complete a successful relaunch by sponsoring one of the club's biggest annual events.
Held over the late May bank holiday weekend (24-27 May) this year's beer festival includes 20 real ales and ciders, a well-stocked gin, Prosecco and wine bar, live music and a cricket competition. This year, with the help of JCW, the club are hoping it's their biggest beer festival ever.
Raising a glass
"Clubs like Edgworth are vital parts of their local community, and what the club has done with its redevelopment has ensured it can play an even bigger role over coming years," says JCW founder John Wilkins. "We're very proud to say that JCW has been a national force in construction screeding and acoustic flooring and supplies for 25 years, yet whilst our work takes us across the UK, our roots are in Bolton. Most of our employees are from the local area, so supporting a local cause like this was a very easy decision to make.
"We're all very much looking forward to raising a glass to the club over the bank holiday weekend."
