LOCAL MP Sir David Crausby recently visited the Elephant & Castle and adjoining Popworld nightclub in Bolton, to see behind the scenes of the significant £195,000 investment in the site, completed at the end of last year.

During his visit, Sir David met General Manager, Steve Coyle, and Area Manager, Craig Southall. He was given a tour of the venue and learnt about Stonegate's apprenticeships, training and development schemes.

Following his visit, Sir David said: “I’ve always been a supporter of pubs and clubs and I’d love for Bolton to have a thriving evening and night-time economy. So it’s great to see a business like the Elephant and Castle investing in Bolton and the future of the town’s nightlife.

“I was particularly impressed by the pub’s leadership on the Best Bar None scheme which brings local businesses together to raise standards of best practice and tackle issues like antisocial behaviour and ensure that Bolton is a safe and welcoming place to have a few drinks.”
