Girls Help the Town to Cross Country Success

Having won earlier heats, seven Bolton School Girls’ Division pupils were selected to run for the Bolton Town Team at the recent Greater Manchester Cross Country Championships. A total of ten boroughs across Greater Manchester had pupils competing in the races held at Heaton Park in Manchester and the Bolton School girls helped the Bolton team finish 3rd overall at Y7 level, 2nd overall in Y9 and in first place in the Y10 category.

Elena Bartalotta finished in an impressive 4th position in the Y7 race which means she will qualify for the national schools’ final in March; there was an 18th place finish for Molly Grimshaw, a 26th place finish for Charlotte Harris and a 64th place finish for Zahara Muhammad in the same year group. Alice Barkhouse came 49th in the Y9 race and Lucy Pixton and Amy Doyle finished 30th and 34threspectively in the Y10 competition.
