A man has died following a collision in Bolton

At around 4.45pm on Thursday 20 December 2018, police were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a grey Ford Focus on Belmont Road.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian - a 52-year-old man - was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

The driver remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the 52-year-old man sadly died from his injuries yesterday (Sunday 20 January 2019).

Police Constable Louise Warhurst, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident where a man has sadly lost his life. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.

“We have a dedicated team of officers who are continuing to piece together the circumstances in the lead up to this incident.

“I would urge anyone who saw the pedestrian or Ford Focus at around the time of the collision to please get in touch with police as you may be able to assist our enquiries.”
