Bolton Ramblers travel by coach to the Ingleborough area on Saturday, March 3rd with three different walks on offer.
The 'A' walk will be 8 miles in length and will cover over 2000ft of ascent. It starts at Ingleton, climbs to the summit of Ingleborough, the second highest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and then descends past the fascinating Gaping Gill pot hole to the lovely village of Clapham.
The 'B' and 'C' walks are 7.5 miles and almost 6 miles respectively. They start and finish in Clapham and follow old pack-horse routes and droveways in beautiful countryside, passing through small Yorkshire villages.
There will be time for refreshment before boarding the coach back to Bolton.

More locally, on Sunday, March 11th, the Ramblers take a different way from Doffcocker.
Meet at Doffcocker Lodge car park at 2pm (Bus 125 or 501 to the Triangle Church) for a leisurely 4 mile walk from the Lodge through Captains Clough, past the Park to Moss Bank chimney, one of the last in Bolton. The walk then follows old paths to Smithills Hall, continuing down through Smithills Wood and along a woodland trail, returning to the Lodge across fields.
This walk is free and there is no need to book. Just turn up with suitably sturdy walking gear. For further information, contact Lou on 07815 076797.
