Market Place, Bolton is excited to announce that they will be hosting the first Bolton Wine Festival on Friday April 6th and Saturday April 7th.
Market Place was selected as the ideal venue to host the event organised and managed by Matt Farnworth of Bluetree media, due to the recent explosion of great food and drink on offer within the centre.
The event is the perfect opportunity for everyone, from individuals newly introduced to the drink, to those with more refined palates, to sample wines from all over the world. There will also be the chance to try some alternative tipples including gins, spirits and beers.
Guests at the event can expect to find 100’s of wines to choose from to taste and then buy by the glass or even the bottle. There will be wine tasting and masterclasses with a variety of local and national producers and suppliers including Turton Wines from Bromley Cross, The Vineyard at Ramsbottom, Wineboy at Stockport, Barefoot wines of California, The Bubbly Box from Wigan, Gin Meister from Bury and The Drinks Enthusiast from Manchester. In addition The Vaults’ very own bars, including Great Ale, will be offering samples and special deals for ticket holders.
There will also be a ‘guess the grape station’ where visitors can put their tasting skills to the test – blindfolded - with a prize for those who guess correctly. Hosted by a compare from local company ‘Events4’, with live music throughout, the event is sure to be both entertaining and educational.
Advance tickets are just £10 each, while those bought on the day are £12 each. All ticket prices include entry, event programme, wine glass, a free drink and vouchers for The Light Cinema and selected businesses in The Vaults. Tickets are available now and can be purchased from www.boltonwinefestival.co.uk.
Matt Farnworth, Bluetree Media said: “Being born & raised in Bolton, it's fantastic to see food and drink hotspots like The Vaults become so popular. Market Place is doing a fantastic job enhancing what Bolton has to offer, helping us get out of that Manchester shadow.
"The area needs more events like this and it was a no-brainer to collaborate with them on Bolton's first ever Wine Festival! With live music and entertainment throughout, it's sure to be an amazing weekend.”
Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager, Market Place said: “We’re thrilled to be able to bring this new event to Bolton. As a centre, we have a great choice of places to drink and dine, so this event is hugely complimentary to this offer and provides the opportunity for customers to try drinks that they are less accustomed to, without the pressure to buy.”
