Bolton Ramblers will be walking through Welsh Border country from Penley to Chirk onn Sunday, February 18th.
The Ramblers leave Bolton by coach at 8am (meet outside the Lads & Girls Club on Spa Road) to walk part of the Maelor Way.
Two walks are on offer, one of 11.5 miles and one of 9 miles. Both walks cross unspoiled, undulating countryside to meet up with the River Dee.
They follow the river, first walking beside it and then high above its valley. Eventually, the walks meet up with the Shropshire Union Canal and follow the towpath across the superb Thomas Telford aqueduct, built in 1801, alongside another wonderful structure, the railway viaduct.
The walks finish in Chirk where there will be time for refreshments before boarding the coach back to Bolton.

This walk is free and there is no need to book. Just turn up with suitably sturdy walking gear and a packed lunch. For further information, please contact Keith on 01204 302483.
