It’s Get Online Week from October 15th to 21st and local people are invited to come along and get to grips with the internet at either of two digital drop in sessions being held in local libraries.
Dates, times and venues for these free events are as follows.
Monday 15October:10am to 12 noon at Bury Library
Thursday 18 October:10am to 12noon at Prestwich Library
Michael O’Callaghan, Digital and Inclusion Officer for Bury Libraries said: “Whether you’re brand-new to the internet, or you just want a bit of help doing more online, Get Online Week is here to help you take your next step.
"At our digital drop-in sessions people can have a go at using the internet and trying it out for some things they’d normally do either face to face or over the phone. For example, purchase a product online, carry out bank transactions, book a doctor’s appointment, order a prescription and so much more – there’s no end to the options.
“Using the internet can help save money, save time, and make life easier and even more fun.But if you’re not confident using a computer, tablet or smartphone, or you’ve heard about some of the dangers of being online, it can be difficult to take that next step. That’s where these free Get Online Week drop-in sessions can really help.”
The Get Online Week digital drop-in sessions are being hosted by Bury Library Service in partnership with Bury Adult Learning Service as part of Bury Council’s commitment to digital inclusion and making sure all people have the capability to use the internet to do things that benefit them day to day.
